Beijing Telecom’s First 5G爱上海 Telephone Operator: How much does 5G Package 1G cost to sell?

China Times (Chinatimes. net. cn) reporter Huang Xingli reports from Beijing
On April 12, China Mobile successfully made the first 5G call through 5G mobile phone on Beijing 5G experimental network.
It is understood that this call uses the NSA core network and IMS network upgraded by the current network of 4G, realizes the communication between 5G mobile phones without changing cards or numbers, and the voice quality of 5G voice calls is clear. On the evening of April 9, China Mobile Beijing completed the upgrade of NSA version of its core network equipment. After the upgrade, the core network and IMS network have 5G functions, fully supporting the access of 5G terminals. On April 12, China Mobile Beijing successfully dialed its first 5G phone.
According to public data, in December last year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially approved the 5G test frequency bands of three major operators, and China Mobile was approved the 2.6GHz and 4.9GHz test frequency bands, which rapidly promoted the maturity of industry in two bands, including network and terminal. This will make China Mobile face new challenges. This time, China Mobile in Beijing through the 2.6GHz 5G network environment, to achieve end-to-end 5G mobile phone calls, marking China Mobile in Beijing’s 5G business application level, has entered a new stage.
5G brings not only faster Internet access speed, but also much more traffic consumption than in the 4G era. Earlier, some media quoted the voice of Guangdong Mobile as pointing out that DOU (per capita monthly traffic) under 5G network is at least 60G, which is even higher in practice, and this indicator is only a reference value.
According to the Annual Report of China Radio Management (2018) issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the average monthly traffic of mobile Internet access users reached 4.42GB/month last year, 2.6 times that of the previous year. Among them, mobile Internet traf

fic reached 70.2 billion GB, an increase of 198.7% over the previous year, accounting for 98.7% of the total traffic. That is to say, in the 5G era, per capita traffic is at least 10 times more than that in the 4G era. The price of 5G package has become the focus of users’attention.
In early April, the three major telecom operators launched 5G service in Korea, but the price is not cheap. The monthly rate of 5G package varies from 55,000 won (325 yuan) to 130,000 won (768 yuan) and the minimum price package only includes 8G traffic. As early as the end of December last year, Finnish operator Elisa also announced a 5G package fee, charging 50 euros a month, about 400 yuan.
Judging from the 5G package launched abroad at present, it is true that the price of traffic is quite high. However, China Mobile has said that 5G fees will not be very expensive and everyone can afford it. A few days ago, some network news said that the 5G package traffic that China Mobile will launch will be calculated according to TB (1T = 1024G), a TB, the highest price is not more than 100 yuan, so as to calculate, 1G traffic is only a dime. However, the news has not yet been officially confirmed by China Mobile.
According to the timetable disclosed by China Mobile at the end of 2018, including Beijing, China Mobile has launched a full-scale 5G test and application demonstration in 17 cities, with the goal of achieving pre-commercial 5G in 2019 and commercial scale in 2020. The first 5G mobile phone call means that Beijing is a step closer to the 5G era. A few days ago, the reporter learned from Beijing Mobile that at present, Beijing Mobile is making great efforts to deploy and build 5G base stations. By the end of the year, it will be able to achieve full coverage of 5G signals in Beijing’s Fifth Ring Region.
